Crime History: Victor Antoine Ardisson, the “Vampire of Muy”

In the late nineteenth century, France was rocked by the crimes of Victor Antoine Ardisson, whose deeds earned him the nickname, the “Vampire of Muy.”

Ardisson was born in the little communal town of Le Muy in the southeastern portion of the country in late 1872, where, after a few unsuccessful attempts at other lines of work, he ended up as the town undertaker and gravedigger, two practices that gruesomely serviced his true predilection: necrophilia.
