A 23-year-old New York man is facing second-degree murder charges after he confessed to drowning his mother in a swimming pool. Suffolk County police say that Denis Cullen, Jr., put his mother, Elizabeth Cullen, into a chokehold at her home in Cold Springs Harbor on Long Island before dragging her into the deep end and holding her underwater. Prosecutors say that Denis told investigators that the dispute with his mother began after she scolded him for not taking his medication.
